By Zainab Al Nasseri — MUSCAT: Dec 19: The third edition of Information and Communication Technology Exhibition (ICTEX) was launched at Muscat Hall at the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) on Monday. The expo was presided over by Dr Hamed bin Salim al Rawahi, CEO of Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA). The two-day event saw students from both government and private educational institutions, departments of Information Technology Authority (ITA), MoHE and government units.
from both Sur and Sohar Colleges for Applied Sciences, Muscat College, Dhofar University, and Oman College for Management & Technology have been displayed.
The objective is to introduce MoHE staff to different technology channels and services for smooth communication.
The patron of the event lauded the efforts of the different departments as well as students for using modern technology and applying it in real life.
“The exhibition content is impressive. Like other government units, the ministry is making efforts to conduct all its transactions digitally. There are students’ projects that need to be supported.”
On the sidelines of the exhibition, a contest will be conducted for the best three projects. A workshop will also be conducted by the Scientific Research Council. Pictures by Shamsa al Harthi
