CAIRO: The Sultanate, represented by its scouts, took part in the 9th Professional Diploma in Scout Media, Communication and Marketing, which was opened at Al Ahram Organisation in Egypt on Sunday. The Diploma is organised by the Arab Scout Organisation (ASO), in collaboration with the Al Ahram Regional Press Institute (ARPI) and Arab and international universities from December 25 to January 13. The opening ceremony was held in the presence of Dr Atif Abdul Majid Ahmed, Secretary General of ASO, and Samih Abdallah, Director of ARPI. The participation of the Sultanate’s Scouts and Girl Guides stems from the belief in the importance of preparing specialised cadres in the field of scout media, public relations and marketing to achieve the scout vision and mission, as well as the communications and marketing strategy to contribute to scout movement in a bid to strengthen the scout image to achieve 100 million Scout membership in the world by the year 2023. — ONA
