Muscat – The new budget airline, Salam Air, will launch its maiden services between Salalah and Muscat on January 30. The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) said yesterday that it has issued operating a license to the airline in accordance with provisions of the Civil Aviation Act as the company had met all the requirements.
The company has been issued the Air Operator Certificate and the commercial licence that will allow it to serve both domestic and international routes.
Salam will be the second national carrier of Oman and will start services with domestic flights between Muscat and Salalah from January 30. Price start from RO 11 on this sector as per the website.
Since inception, PACA said it has been a suitable environment for the development of the civil aviation sector through various regulations and establishing rules in harmony with agreements various international treaties.
The license to operate a low-cost carrier was put up in 2015 and the winner of the bids was named in 2016.
