MUSCAT: Al Ahlam Higher Education Services is celebrating its 15th anniversary of operations this month. The annual Al Ahlam UK Education Expo will therefore have a special significance this year. This year’s educational exhibition is scheduled from March 20 to 21 at Grand Millennium Muscat and March 22 to 23 at Crowne Plaza Sohar.

Although best known in Oman as the “UK agency”, the company has built up wide expertise over the years and, in addition to representing over 50 UK institutions, now promotes UK universities with a campus in Malaysia, as well as some Irish institutions.  From the outset, Al Ahlam’s goal was to provide impartial, factual counselling on overseas study and it now has an enviable reputation which attracts students, parents, school counsellors, employers and sponsors who appreciate unbiased, accurate advice.

Al Ahlam’s strength lies in its indepth understanding and knowledge of UK and Irish education, which enables its staff to provide valuable counselling so that students can attain a degree from a high quality institution.

Similarly, Al Ahlam assists its education partners in promoting their institution and hence recruiting potential students from the Sultanate.

Kate Clarke (pictured), Managing Director & Education Adviser, came to Oman in 1986 and acquired broad industry experience at various education organisations in Muscat before establishing her very own company in 2002.  “I gradually realised that my in depth knowledge of UK education through my own study experiences, combined with my work as a teacher in Muscat, had placed me in a unique position to counsel and advise Omani students”.  It is to this that she attributes the continued success of her company.

Kate said, “UK has always been a prime destination for Omani students to pursue their higher education, mainly due to the historically strong relationship between the UK and Oman as well as highly favourable feedback on the study experience.”
