MUSCAT: A meeting was held at the Ministry of Higher Education under the chairmanship of Dr Rawya bint Saud al Busaidiya, Minister of Higher Education, to discuss the application by Dhofar University to establish a college of medicine. The meeting was attended by Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Health, Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed al Sarmi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Shaikh Salim bin Mustahil al Ma’ashani, Adviser at the Diwan of Royal Court and Member of the Board of Trustees of Dhofar University, Dr Said bin Hamad al Rabie, Secretary-General of the Education Council and officials at the Ministry of Higher Education, the Education Council and Dhofar University. The participants at the meeting agreed that Dhofar University should conduct a feasibility study that includes the reasons for the project, the cost, in addition to a theme on training. — ONA
