Energy, water meet today

By Zainab Al Nasseri — MUSCAT: April 30 - Thirty-five academics and experts on water and energy will speak at the three-day Oman Energy and Water Conference 2017 beginning at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre on Monday. The conference is being held under the auspices of Sultan bin Salim al Habsi, Secretary-General of Supreme Council for Planning. Organised by the Public Authority for Electricity and Water, it is likely to be attended by some 350 participants from Oman and abroad.


The conference will focus on investment opportunities in water and energy as well as drainage systems over the country.


It will also look at ways of energy conservation and boosting its efficiency through government and private entities.


It covers articles like enhancing infrastructure for electricity, water and sewage sectors, future of energy and production efficiency policies, renewable power, water sustainable management, operation and maintenance plans in the field of electricity and water, state-of-the-art tools used in water transportation, smart management, utilising waste in energy production, water networks challenges and using media platforms to raise awareness on saving energy and water resources.
