By Business Reporter — MUSCAT: MAY 7 - The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) has successfully completed an external audit certifying its ISO 9001-2008 quality management system. The external audit was carried out in PEIE’s head office, Rusayl Industrial Estate, Samayil Industrial Estate and Knowledge Oasis Muscat. Hasan al Marhoon (pictured), Acting Director General of Planning and Business Development at PEIE, said the audit embodied PEIE’s quest to provide higher standards of services to investors and institutions.
“This certification is an international recognition of the quality of the offered services that comply with the international quality standards. Moreover, this achievement is certainly an added value for PEIE to achieve its objectives, particularly to achieve customer satisfaction in terms of facilitation of procedures and assurance of realising highest levels of quality of offered services for investors,” Al Marhoon pointed out.
PEIE will also prepare in the coming period to include the other industrial estates in the scope of ISO 9001: 2015, which is the latest edition by the International Organization for Standardisation, Al Marhoon informed.
For his part, Basil al Murazza, Director of Quality and Development Department (Management Representative), said that PEIE was able to complete all necessary procedures as per the ISO certification framework. “The process of external audit was carried out by the international TUV SUD, which audited all the departments. The latter departments completed all the requirements in terms of documenting procedures and followed up the closure of internal audit observations,” Al Murazza added.
Al Murazza noted that PEIE has organised several awareness workshops on quality topics for its employees with the aspiration to disseminate awareness on quality management related topics. He stressed on the role played by PEIE’s employees in completing the necessary measures in line with the frameworks of the ISO certification, and hailed their cooperation with the quality team to successfully complete the external audit for the ISO 9001-2008 certification.
