Workshop for teachers of Indian School Muscat held

MUSCAT: A workshop by the Indian School Administrators for the teaching faculty was organised last week from 8 am to 1 pm in the school auditorium. The objective of the workshop was to facilitate sharing of knowledge and also to keep teachers abreast of the new changes in the CBSE curriculum.


The workshop aimed at imparting valuable information on various areas like National Curriculum Framework, STEM, New Education Policy, Symptoms of a Special Education Need Child (SEN), CBSE’s Latest Circulars and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE). The resource persons were Deep Wilson, Adviser to Principal, Eskalin Gonsalves, Vice Principal, Senior Section, Jacob Zacharias, Vice Principal, Middle Section, Priya Murali, Vice Principal, Primary Section, Mrs Geeta N Chauhan, Assistant Vice Principal, Senior Section, Dr Benny, Counsellor and Harshvardhan, Country Head, HSE Dept, L&T, Oman. The facilitators’ presentations were very informative and were accompanied by impressive slide shows, videos and statistics of the key areas in a school system.


Principal, Dr Rajeev Kumar Chauhan welcomed the gathering and gave an overview of the workshop. The President of the Indian School Muscat Managing Committee N Omanakuttan, while addressing the audience, stressed on the importance of such workshops where sharing of knowledge takes place, which in turn enriches and equips the teachers with vital information and new techniques to make their teaching more effective.


Prema George, Vice Principal, Pre-Primary Section compered the programme. Shaheen Kasmani, Asst Vice Principal, Pre-Primary Section, proposed the vote of thanks. On the whole it was an enlightening session for the teachers of ISM.
