Within the framework of social responsibility between government and private sectors, the Ministry of Social Development signed a memorandum with the WJ Towell Group to fund a centre for juvenile rehabilitation in Wilayat of Seeb. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Shaikh Mohammed bin Said al Kalbani, Minister of Social Development, and Hussain al Lawati, Chairman of WJ Towell, besides a number of officials.
The centre is expected to provide care and rehabilitation services for juveniles in accordance with juvenile accountability law. It would accommodate more than 70 cases and consists of many facilities and rehabilitation programmes.
Shaikh Al Kalbani extended his thanks to all private institutions that support public authorities in all socially beneficial projects. “This initiative by Towell Group is really a blessed step and it is considered a support to all efforts made by private institutions weather charitable institutions or those of social responsibility. The centre itself is a qualitative shift for the Ministry’s services” he said.
