Muscat, Sept 19 - The first Arab Forum for Women and Psychological Shifts in the Media has recommended joint efforts for promoting women’s role both inside and outside of their families.

The forum, which concluded on Tuesday under the auspices of Dr Abdulmunim al Hasani, Minister of Information, suggested the raising of awareness on mental health, encouraging research in the field, providing training in psychological health and forming a media network to highlight such issues.

It discussed women’s issues and mental health in a changing world.

The last day saw two main sessions: ‘Governments’ Role in Improving Women’s Health’ besides ‘Arab Women and Global changes’.

The forum looked at having a database for exchanging experiences and initiatives related to women’s health as well as spreading awareness about the possible mental diseases that can affect women.

The event saw workshops and an exhibition where women entrepreneurs could showcase their businesses.
