MUSCAT: Seven Seas Petroleum, the local business partner of Emerson Automation Solutions in Oman, participated in Emerson’s Innovation Day that took place at the Grand Millennium Hotel Muscat on Monday, April 16, 2018. The event introduced the latest innovations, industry trends and solutions in process automation and was attended by the major organisations in Oman. It was an exciting and unique opportunity to keep ahead of industry trends and the latest innovations.
The event was presided by Salim bin Nasser bin Said al Aufi, Under-Secretary, Ministry of Oil and Gas, Sultanate of Oman. Among other things, Al Aufi mentioned that innovative technologies now enable us to recover oil and gas from fields that were commercially unviable in the past, maximizing value from the existing assets. Al Aufi advised the industry to anticipate future challenges and develop solutions to address those. Due to advancement in technology, the jobs that are available today may become irrelevant tomorrow, hence the students too need to follow the current industry trends and take up appropriate courses for jobs which will still be available when they graduate.
“We see Oman continuing to make significant investments in the upstream sector of oil and gas, and the downstream sector of refining and petrochemicals, and most importantly meeting the Energy demands of a growing country”, said Shuayb al Suleimany, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Seven Seas Petroleum. He added that we take pride in working with our customers to help them in their CAPEX investments with Emerson’s Project Certainty model and with their OPEX with Emerson’s Operational Certainty model.”
