MUSCAT, Jan 1 - Oman national football team completed their last training sessions to take on Thailand on Wednesday in their final tune-up before the Asian Cup in the UAE from January 5.
The friendly will kick off at 5 pm (Oman Time) in Abu Dhabi.
Coach Pim Verbeek and the Red Warriors need a good result against the Thais to overhaul their 5-0 thrashing from defending champions Australia on Sunday.
India held Oman to a goalless draw in the first preparatory match.
Verbeek and assistant coaches Waleed al Saadi and Muhanna Said have regrouped the team after the heavy defeat against Australia.

Verbeek had cited individual mistakes from the players for the defeat. However, the Dutchman will be keen to overcome the weak areas in the team with a confident boosting win against Thailand.
After the Thailand friendly, Verbeek is expected to finalise his starting list for the opening match against Uzbekistan on January 9.
The Oman head coach is likely to continue with his experiments during the Thailand match to test the players ahead of the continental show piece.
The players had good workouts in Tuesday’s training session.
Oman will face off Asian giants Japan in their second match on January 13. The third match will take place on January 17 against Turkmenistan.
