Muscat: The criminal court in Muscat sentenced two people to ten years' imprisonment and fined RO10,000 for human trafficking.

The court also ordered deportation from the country for life and the confiscation of their properties.

They forced the victim (resident) to work in prostitution; to make money from trafficking by exploiting their vulnerability and the lack of resourcefulness.

Recently, the court had sentenced two expatriate women in different cases of human trafficking, which include forcing victims to work in the field of prostitution.

It may be noted that victims were trafficked and exploited to work in the field of prostitution after bringing them to the country for employment.
