Nizwa: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) celebrated its annual day, which falls on January 5 each year, on Sunday. On this occasion, a celebration was held at the Military Parade Field of the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences (SQAPS) in the Wilayat of Nizwa to mark the graduation of officers.
The celebration was presided over by Shaikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri, Minister of Manpower, in the presence of a number of ministers, advisers, commanders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, security personnel, a number of honourable members of
the State Council, some members of Majlis Ash’shura, judges, local officials, shaikhs and dignitaries of the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah and parents of graduates. The celebration started with the national anthem by ROP music band followed by inspection of parade by the chief guest. The chief guest took the salute from the marching graduates. The chief guest then handed over awards to toppers.
The graduates chanted the Homat Al Haqq Anthem and proclaimed thrice Long Live His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. At the conclusion of the period, the national anthem was played followed by the march of ROP horsemen.
During the ROP annual day celebration, it was announced that the Governorate of Muscat got the ROP Award for Criminal Intelligence and the Governorate of Dhofar got the ROP Traffic Safety Awards. The Special Task Force also received the ROP Infantry Award. — ONA
