Muscat: The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) has approved Qeshm Air to operate two weekly flights from the Iranian island of Qeshm to Muscat International Airport.
The airline can start operations from February 5, 2019.
Qeshm Air with headquarters in Qeshm Island operates scheduled domestic and international passenger services as well as charter flights.
According to Lonely Planet, 'Qeshm is fringed with biologically diverse mangrove forests, attractive beaches and 60 villages. Its sun-scorched interior features geologically significant canyons, hills, caves and valleys, most of which are protected as part of the Unesco-recognised Qeshm Island Geopark – bliss for nature-lovers.'
