Muscat, Feb 3 - Oman national beach soccer, under-19 and under-16 teams are having busy schedule these days as they are gearing up to participate in the upcoming regional and continental tournaments.
Oman national beach soccer team completed their first internal camp recently and the second camp is under way as the team will take part at the Asian championship in Thailand during March 9 to 17.
The first domestic camp included two friendly matches against the UAE. In the first match, Talib Hilal coached team beat UAE 4-2, while the visitors overcame Oman’s challenge 4-2 in the second preparatory match.
Talib Hilal, head coach of beach soccer team, has called 14 players for second camp who include Amjad al Hamdani, Younis al Oaisi, Haitham al Omrani, Khalid al Oraimi, Munther al Oraimi, Mashael al Oraimi, Yahya al Oraimi, Jalal al Sinani, Abdullah al Souti, Ishaq al Mas, Nouh al Zadjali, Musaab al Braiki, Sami al Balushi and Yasser al Ghafri.
Talib Hilal said the team had commenced their preparations for the World Cup qualification and Asian championship in earnest to better equip the players. “Our squad has a mix of experienced and young players. We are calling some teams to have more friendlies in the upcoming days. Hope we will succeed to get Lebanon and Thailand teams for the friendlies in Muscat.”
The former Asian champions will travel to Thailand on March 1 to have a short external camp prior commencing their campaign at the championship.
Oman U-19 team
Oman national team U-19 completed their internal camp on Sunday. The camp was part of team’s preparations for the regional and international participations. The team with new coaching staff headed by Yaqoob al Sabahi and assistant Musaab al Dhamri selected the initial list of the players. Sabahi, a former under-16 team coach, supervised more than five training sessions.

On the other hand, Oman national under-16 team began on Sunday their second preparatory internal camp to gear up for upcoming participation. The new head coach of under-16 team, Hilal al Oufi, and his assistant Sultan al Tuqi had recently conducted the first camp of the team. Through the camps, the technical staff is aiming to select the talented players for the team and raise their readiness for future tournaments and championships. The national team will play against Seeb (under-16) club on Wednesday.
