MUSCAT: Dr Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, signed his book 'The Power of Negotiation' at the Dar Luban pavilion during the 29th Muscat International Book Fair on Friday.
The signing ceremony was attended by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, and Dr Abdullah bin Nasser al Harrasi, Minister of Information and Chairman of the Main Committee of Muscat International Book Fair.
Published by Dar Hashem in Beirut and translated by Dr Fatima Mohammadi Sijani, the book features an introduction and six in-depth chapters that explore negotiation types, the role and skills of the negotiator, and the stages and demands of negotiation.
Following the signing, Dr Araghchi toured several pavilions at the fair, including that of North Al Sharqiyah Governorate — the fair’s Guest of Honour — which highlighted the governorate’s cultural and historical legacy.
He also visited the Ministry of Information’s pavilion, where he viewed a range of digital initiatives, including Oman News Agency’s AI-powered virtual exhibition, historical photography, and audiovisual materials from the Directorate General of Electronic Media. The Ain Platform—both for general and children's content — features over 65,000 media resources, including 60 audiobooks, reflecting the Ministry’s digital transformation efforts.
At the General Directorate of Publications and Artistic Works, the Iranian minister reviewed 'The Omani Presence in East Africa', a trilingual publication (Arabic, English, Swahili) that documents Oman’s historical influence on the East African coast. The exhibit included a model of the iconic House of Wonders, built in 1883 during the reign of Sultan Barghash bin Said.
Dr Araghchi concluded his tour with a visit to the Iranian National Library and Archives pavilion and the Saudi Arabian pavilion, where he viewed rare manuscripts and major publications. - ONA
