Seeb dominate Saham to stay on top, Al Nahda win

Seeb secured a big 5-1 victory over Saham in the Round 17 to stay top of Omantel League at Seeb Sports Stadium on Sunday.


Seeb opened the scoring in the seventh minute through Aboubakar Kamara, followed by a second goal from Omar al Malki from the penalty spot in the 11th minute. The team continued its dominance, adding two more goals by Abdulrahman al Mushaifri and Zahir al Aghbari, ending the first half with a 4-0 lead.


In the second half, Saham pulled one back in the 63rd minute through Zouhair Khasif, but Seeb sealed the win with a fifth goal by Jameel al Yahmadi in the 74th minute.


With this result, Seeb raised their tally to 41 points and maintained the top spot in the standings, while Saham remained at 20 points in sixth place.


AL NAHDA BLANK AL KHABOURAH


Al Nahda earned a commanding 4-0 victory over Al Khabourah at Al Buraimi Sports Complex.


The scoring started in the 38th minute with Abed al Mashaikhi capitalising on a defensive mix-up inside the box. In the second half, Al Nahda continued to dominate, adding three more goals: a header by Thani al Rashidi in the 53rd minute, a strike by Ahmed Nawaf in the 61st, and a final goal by Ali al Rashidi in the stoppage time.


With this win, Al Nahda raised their tally to 39 points, holding second place in the league, while Al Khabourah stayed at 21 points in fifth place.


AL NASR BEAT lBRI


At Al Saada Sports Complex, Al Nasr defeated Ibri 1-0.


Al Nasr held slight control early on, pressing to open the scoring but was met with a well-organised Ibri defence and fast counter-attacks. In the 18th minute, Ibri’s Omran al Mandhari nearly scored, but Al Nasr goalkeeper Said al Sinani made a crucial save. Nasib al Ghailani came close to scoring in the 22nd minute, but his header was denied by keeper Murshid al Hamhami, and the first half ended goalless.


In the second half, Ibri applied pressure, but missed key chances. The only goal came in the 73rd minute when substitute Osama Majdi assisted Mulhim al Sinani, who struck a powerful shot into the net.


With this result, Al Nasr moved up to fourth place with 23 points, while Ibri remained at 19 points in ninth place.


AL SHABAB OVERCOME AL RUSTAQ


At Al Rustaq Sports Complex, Al Shabab defeated Al Rustaq 3-1.


Al Shabab took the lead in the 13th minute through Ahed al Hudaifi, while Al Rustaq equalised in the 69th minute with a header from Musab al Shaqsi. However, Al Shabab responded late in the match with two goals: Emerson scored in the 86th minute and Yousuf al Ghafri added a third in the 90th minute.


With the win, Al Shabab climbed to sixth place with 20 points, while Al Rustaq dropped to 11th with 17 points, falling into the relegation zone.
