This is due to the availability of quality services and well-equipped facilities as well as a variety of cultural and entertainment events all of which have provided a multitude of options for families to enjoy the holidays.

Many tourist destinations are buzzing during Eid including in Muscat Governorate, where visitors flock to cultural landmarks such as Al Alam Palace, Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque as well as traditional markets.


Al Jabal Al Akhdhar in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate is one of the most visited places by nature and adventure lovers. The beaches of Qurayat are characterised by their beauty and tranquillity making them an ideal destination for outing and relaxing. Wadi Shab is a wonderful destination for those who seek to enjoy hiking and adventure.

Sulaiman al Hadhrami said: “The Eid holiday is an opportunity to promote domestic tourism and introduce our rich heritage through cultural and entertainment events. Some destinations, such as the Al Jabal Al Akhdhar and Wadi Shab, are of great interest to visitors.” Asmaa al Toubi said: “We visited Al Aqar neighbourhood and the Oman Across Ages Museum. Citizens and residents love to visit these during this Eid holiday I noticed a significant increase in the number of visitors. I feel there are many more beautiful places I have yet to explore as Oman is teeming within natural beauty.”

Mohammed al Hoqani said, "The Eid holiday is a suitable occasion to promote and stimulate domestic tourism where visitors can enjoy the exceptional events and visit various landmarks. My family and I organised a trip to Al Dakhiliyah Governorate where we enjoyed the special Eid events. The place witnessed a large visitor turnout during this prolonged Eid holiday.”

Ali al Abri pointed out that domestic tourism in the Sultanate of Oman is one of the vital sectors that contributes to economic growth. The Sultanate of Oman is characterised by its geographical and cultural diversity making it an attractive destination for citizens, residents and tourists throughout the year.


He added that they visited many places including Nizwa Souq and Al Jabal Al Akhdhar and enjoyed recreational activities on the beaches of Muscat Governorate.
