MUSCAT: Muscat Municipality, in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police and the Public Prosecution, raided four homes in Muttrah as part of its efforts to ensure food safety and public health during Ramadhan.
In a statement, the municipality said the crackdown resulted in the seizure of 400 kg of food unfit for human consumption, along with cooking utensils that failed to meet health standards. Authorities recorded multiple health violations and legal action has been taken against the offenders.
Muscat Municipality has urged the public to follow food safety guidelines to prevent contamination and food poisoning, including avoiding storing cooked food in the fridge for an extended period, not leaving food out of the fridge for more than two hours and storing raw food separately from cooked food.
