MUSCAT: Oman’s automotive fuel production dropped by 6.9% in December 2024 compared to the previous month, while overall refinery output decreased by 0.3% for the year, according to preliminary data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
Production of regular petrol (M91) fell by 15.6%, while premium petrol (M95) saw a 15.2% increase. Diesel output declined 5.6%, while jet fuel production rose 16.9%. Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) output reached 8.58 million barrels, with sales exceeding 9.64 million barrels.
In petrochemicals, gasoline production surged 16.1%, while polypropylene dropped 11.7%, despite a 12.1% rise in sales. Oman’s fuel exports surged, with M91 exports up 83.7% and M95 exports soaring 138.3%. Diesel and jet fuel exports also remained strong, reinforcing Oman’s position as a key fuel supplier in global markets. — ONA
