Muscat: King Hamad bin Issa al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain arrived on Tuesday on a two-day state visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik led the welcoming party for the King.
When the jet touched ground at the Royal Airport, His Majesty the Sultan met the guest at the foot of the ramp, welcoming him and wishing him and his accompanying delegation a pleasant stay in Oman.
Along with His Majesty the Sultan, King Hamad was received by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidi, Minister of Interior (Head of the Mission of Honour), Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Sayyid Faisal bin Harib al Busaidi, Ambassador of Oman to Bahrain, Dr Juma bin Ahmed al Kaabi, Ambassador of Bahrain to Oman, members of the mission of honour and some members of the Bahraini Embassy in Muscat.
When the guest’s jet entered the Omani airspace, it was escorted by a squadron of military aircrafts of the Royal Air Force of Oman till its arrival at the Royal Airport, in a manifestation of warm welcome.
Then, His Majesty the Sultan and King Hamad headed to the hall, flanked by two rows of the guard of honour of the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO).
After a short break, the motorcade of the two leaders left the Royal Airport, heading to Al Alam Palace for the official and popular reception.
As the motorcade of the two leaders passed Muscat Gate, a group of Royal Camel Corps lined both sides of the road, welcoming the guest. Then, a cavalcade from the Royal Cavalry and the RGO Cavalry escorted the official motorcade till the National Museum’s building, to the accompaniment of a mounted military music band.
Upon the arrival of the official motorcade at the yard leading to Al Alam Palace, a popular reception was held, with the participation of male and female citizens. A cluster of folklore bands lined the passage, chanting lyrics in a manifestation of warm welcome to the guest.
Upon the arrival of the motorcade at the courtyard of Al Alam Palace, a welcoming tune was played by the RGO band, in an atmosphere of fanfare and ambiance.
After that, His Majesty the Sultan accompanied King Hamad to the Dais of Honour where the National Anthem of the Kingdom of Bahrain was played and the artillery fired a twenty-one-gun salute for the guest.
Then, His Majesty the Sultan shook hands with members of the official delegation accompanying the King, wishing them a pleasant stay and a successful visit. On his turn, the King shook hands with some members of the Royal Family, Chairmen of the State Council and Shura Council, ministers, commanders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and the Royal Oman Police (ROP).
The King of Bahrain is accompanied during the visit by an official delegation comprising Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad al Khalifa, Personal Representative of the King, Shaikh Nassir bin Hamad al Khalifa, Personal Representative of the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad al Khalifa, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court, Shaikh Salman bin Abdullah al Khalifa, Deputy Chairman of the Higher Committee for Urban Planning, Gen Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, Nabil bin Yaqoob al Hamar, Advisor to the King for Media Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed al Khalifa, Advisor to the King for Diplomatic Affairs, Dr Majid bin Ali al Nuaimi, Minister of the Public Affairs at the Royal Court, Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid al Zayani, Foreign Minister, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, Abdullah bin Adil Fakhru, Minister of Industry and Commerce and Dr Juma bin Ahmed al Kaabi, Ambassador of Bahrain to Oman.
