The Sultanate of Oman marked a significant milestone by hosting the inaugural Innoxera Summit 2025, a global platform dedicated to advancing innovations in education and learning technologies. Held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MoE), this landmark event brought together a distinguished assembly of education leaders, tech innovators, and key development companies.
The summit, which took place under the auspices of Dr Abdullah bin Khamis Ambusaidi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education for Education, underscores Oman’s commitment to advancing education through cutting-edge technology, positioning the country as a leader in digital learning in the region.
The Innoxera Summit 2025, the largest of its kind in the region, attracted top industry players such as Intel, Microsoft, ALECSO, Omantel, MHD, and the Global Information Technology Company, among others. These global leaders gathered to discuss the transformative role of technology in education and to explore new pathways for integrating advanced digital tools into the learning process. The summit serves as a crucial meeting point for innovators, educators, and decision-makers dedicated to preparing future generations for success in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
Eng Mohammed al Madani, CEO of Classera, expressed his pride in sponsoring the event. In his opening speech, Al Madani described the summit as a turning point for digital learning in the region, noting that Classera’s partnership with the MoE exemplifies a global model for collaboration in smart education. He added, “This partnership enables us to empower future generations with the digital tools they need to realise their ambitions, in line with Oman Vision 2040.”
Dr Sultan al Kindi, Acting Director-General of Vocational and Technical Education, MoE, emphasised the summit’s significance as a platform for enhancing collaboration between the public and private sectors in education and technology. “The Innoxera Summit offers us a unique opportunity to showcase innovative solutions that will elevate the quality of education in Oman,” he remarked. Al Kindi further noted that the summit’s discussions and initiatives will play a key role in preparing students for the digital age and enhancing the nation’s educational infrastructure.
The summit’s success follows a string of global editions held over the past six years, which have continuously brought together a network of education and technology leaders to explore new horizons in the field. The Oman edition of the Innoxera Summit reaffirmed its role as a leader in the field of education technology, introducing a range of projects and initiatives that are set to shape the future of learning. One of the major highlights of the summit was the unveiling of the 'Tamkeen' project, a groundbreaking platform designed to enhance digital literacy and increase the availability of high-quality Arabic educational content.
A collaboration between Omantel, Classera, and Almentor, the Tamkeen project aims to bridge the digital divide and empower Arabic-speaking communities with the tools they need to succeed in the global digital economy. Aligned with Oman Vision 2040, the Tamkeen platform seeks to expand access to educational resources in Arabic across various sectors, supporting the development of a knowledge-based society.
Eng Alaa Aldeen bin Abdullah Bait Fadhel, Chief Commercial Officer at Omantel, highlighted the project’s significance: “At Omantel, we believe that investing in digital knowledge is essential for building a sustainable future. Through our partnership in the ‘Tamkeen’ project, we aim to promote the Arabic language as a powerful tool for innovation and development, in line with Oman Vision 2040.”
Another notable initiative introduced at the summit was the E-Learning Platform project, an ambitious educational reform led by the MoE. Ali al Adi, Director of the E-Learning System and Digital Repository Project, provided an update on the platform’s progress. The project, which will be rolled out in phases, aims to digitally transform education in Oman by integrating advanced educational tools into classrooms across the nation. The first phase will launch in 140 schools for the 2024-2025 academic year, with further expansion planned for subsequent years. By 2025-2026, the project aims to reach 1,287 schools nationwide, ensuring that Omani students have access to high-quality digital learning environments.
Intel’s participation in the summit underscored its commitment to supporting teachers in their efforts to create engaging learning experiences. Luigi Pessina, Director of Global Education Programmes and Strategies at Intel, discussed the importance of empowering educators to integrate technology into their teaching practices. He highlighted Intel’s collaboration with Classera to support talented teachers and encourage them to design innovative learning experiences that inspire students to think critically and creatively.
The summit also celebrated the winners of the 'Innovative Teacher 2024' competition, a partnership between Classera and Intel. The competition recognises teachers who effectively use technology to create dynamic and stimulating educational models that inspire and motivate students. This initiative underscores the essential role of educators in shaping the future of digital learning.
