KHASAB: Driven by the need to prevent tragic school bus incidents, Omani innovator Khalid bin Mohammed al Kamzari has created a groundbreaking monitoring device designed to enhance the safety of students during transit. This cutting-edge invention aims to prevent accidents caused by students being inadvertently left behind in school buses.

Speaking about the innovation, Al Kamzari explained that the device uses an integrated system with advanced sensing and communication technologies. The system monitors student movement inside the bus and sends instant notifications via phone call and SMS to bus owners if a student is detected inside after the bus is parked. The notifications include critical details such as the bus's location and the time of the alert.

The device has been successfully tested on buses at Qadi Basic Education School in Musandam Governorate. Its capabilities include periodic reporting on potential detention cases, helping bus owners improve safety protocols and reduce risks.

Al Kamzari emphasised that the device offers practical, real-time solutions to protect students and provides peace of mind for parents. By enabling immediate action in emergencies, the innovation significantly reduces response times and enhances overall safety. — ONA
