Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman will host the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) largest annual meeting in 2025 from October 25 to 30, 2025, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center.


This meeting brings together a group of stakeholders from governments, the private sector, civil society, and technical experts to discuss Internet governance, policy development, and management of the global Domain Name System (DNS).


The conference aims to develop global policies for the Domain Name System (DNS) and Internet governance, enhance transparency and accountability within the organization's operations, support capacity building through educational workshops and discussion sessions, and build consensus to make decisions that enhance Internet governance and keep pace with technological developments.


It is worth noting that the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority will host the event in partnership with the relevant authorities.


ICANN is a non-profit corporation that manages the Domain Name System (DNS) and the distribution of Internet (IP) addresses worldwide.


Founded in 1998, ICANN is headquartered in Los Angeles, the organization plays a vital role in maintaining the stability, security, and resiliency of the Internet, making it one of the cornerstones of the global Internet ecosystem.
