MUSCAT: Oman's former national team player, Ali Salim al Abarak, lauded both Oman and Bahrain for their stellar performances that earned them a place in the final of the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup on Saturday. “Reaching the final is a reflection of the technical excellence shown by both teams. Oman is vying for their third title, while Bahrain is seeking their second after their maiden triumph in 2019 in Doha.
Responding to an inquiry on the key solutions for Red Warriors to secure a new title, coach Ali said:” Respecting the opponent and reviewing their playing style will assist Oman team to have a better technical reading ahead of the match. Bahrain team is a very special team as they have strong harmony among the three lines including the defending, middle and attacking lines."
"Coach Rasheed Jaber had a perfect reading in the last match and our strikers including Issam al Subhi and Abdul Rahman al Mushaifri are requested to play a vital role in the front line to score from the scoring attempts. The final match normally depends on a small technical details and benefiting from them can make the difference,” he added.
“Full focus during the whole match is another pillar to end the match on a winning note. My advise to the players is to keep their concentration at the high level during the match. Defenders need to be alert for any attack from the opponent side by strengthening their back line. Presence of Oman team captain and experienced defender Mohammed al Musallami after his absence in the last match will deliver a good motivation to the defenders to show their top level. Furthermore, the players should have enough belief in their selves and dare to take on the rivals,” he explained.
The former Dhofar coach analysed coach Rasheed's tactics in the previous games. “Oman played in some previous games by 4-4-1-1 and moved to 5-4-1 depending on the match situation. I am confident that Rasheed Jaber can read the perfect tactical style which will suit the players in the match,” he concluded.
