Muscat: Oman’s Met Office said on Thursday that a cold weather front is expected to impact Oman from today to Sunday, January 6, bringing a mix of weather changes, including significant temperature drops, rainfall, and strong winds.
Meanwhile, many Northern governorates including Muscat on Thursday morning reported scattered rains.
Expected Weather Conditions:
• Rainfall: Scattered rain is anticipated, especially along Oman’s coastal areas, particularly near the Sea of Oman.
• Temperature Drop: A noticeable and significant drop in temperatures is expected to begin on January 2, intensifying by January 4 and peaking on January 5.
• Wind Activity: Strong winds, particularly in mountain areas, may cause dust storms and reduced visibility.
• Sea Waves: Rough seas and high waves are expected along the coastal regions.

• January 2–3: Gradual cooling begins.
• January 4–6: Temperatures are expected to drop significantly, with the coldest conditions predicted for January 5.
