Kuwait City, Jan 1

Dr Saleh bin Amer al Kharousi, the Sultanate of Oman's Ambassador to Kuwait, organised Omani Sablah Diwaniya in Kuwait (sporting gathering event) on Tuesday.

The event was in the presence of Abdulrahman al Mutairi, Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs in Kuwait.

Al Kharousi said: “The Omani Sablah Diwaniya in Kuwait has a sporting character dedicated to the sports community of the Gulf Cup.”

“We are happy with this gathering between GCC countries, Iraq and Yemen.”

“The tournament has covered a journey of more than half a century, and it is an indicator of the cohesion, as competition is a legitimate right for all, and it is a beautiful event.”

"Kuwait's organisation is wonderful, and all matters were facilitated easily. We praise the activities and events accompanying the tournament, and we cannot forget the dazzling opening show that witnessed the launch of the 26th Gulf Cup.”

Al Kharousi concluded, “This sporting activity came as a conclusion to the year 2024, which is full of events in Kuwait.”

Abdulrahman al Mutairi said: “We are happy with the very special impression of all the participants, media and fans who attended the matches. We always aspire for the best and hear comments and suggestions from many experts and specialists to develop sport events and present a beautiful image of Kuwait.”

Al Mutairi continued, “We will soon announce the celebration of Kuwait as 'Capital of Arab Culture and Media 2025', and this will be a different version because Kuwait combines being the capital of culture and media in one year for a minister who holds two portfolios.”

“The opening will be on February 13 in the presence of the Arab ministers of information, as well as a closing ceremony.”
