In various classifications and divisions within the Environment Authority (EA), institutional performance will be evaluated and encouraged to improve thanks to an electronic platform. This platform helps evaluate and improve performance based on the axes and priorities of the Oman Environment Strategy, which aligns with Oman Vision 2040. The launch took place under the auspices of Dr Abdullah bin Ali al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority.

The platform is designed to align with the sectoral objectives of relevant entities that intersect with the institutional objectives of the EA. It provides the advantage of monitoring the extent to which these objectives are achieved by measuring and evaluating performance through specific indicators and targets.

The new system to evaluate institutional performance within the institution via an electronic platform consists of three sub-systems. Additionally, it includes a window for presenting improvement and developing ideas. These sub-systems are the Strategy Performance Management System, the Operations Performance Management System and the Project Performance Management System.

Salah bin Salem al Hajri, Director of the Quality Department at the Environment Authority, explained that the strategy performance management system is responsible for feeding the sub-systems and entering basic data for other performance measurement systems. These systems include the project performance management system and the operational performance management system, which consists of 17 processes.

Furthermore, the system was developed to enable officials and employees to create and approve goals and measurement indicators. They can also create scheduled activities specified by various measurement tools. This will allow them to verify activities and conduct evaluations according to the specified schedule.

The system will calculate the overall performance of operational processes and projects to achieve the strategy's goals according to the weight that was established. The project performance management system was also developed to create tasks and stages of project implementation within the institution.

This is done after determining the weight system for each process, such as initiatives, and their budget and associated sub-activities. Employees can periodically check the activities, after which evaluations will be conducted periodically and according to the schedule.
