Muscat: The consumer exhibition, a cornerstone of Muscat Nights festival, serves as a dynamic platform for temporary job opportunities and marketing ventures. Combining diversity and innovation, this exhibition enhances the event’s offerings by integrating shopping with entertainment, heritage and cultural experiences at Al Amerat Public Park and Al Naseem Public Park. It also empowers entrepreneurs to sustain and promote their ventures while providing visitors with unique shopping experiences.
This year, more than 700 small and medium enterprises (SMEs), along with entrepreneurs and productive families, are participating in the festival. They showcase their products and services to festival-goers, offering a remarkable opportunity for business promotion and consumer engagement.
The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) has targeted 50 SMEs for participation in the consumer exhibition at both parks. Eligible businesses must be registered with the Authority, with priority given to holders of the Entrepreneurship Card. This year’s event also features major suppliers and renowned brands offering exclusive discounts and deals throughout the festival, making it a prime occasion for budget-friendly shopping.
Comprehensive security and safety measures have been implemented to ensure a smooth experience for visitors. Strategically placed gates help manage entry and exit efficiently, reducing congestion and enhancing convenience for shoppers exploring the various exhibition areas.
The exhibition boasts an array of diverse products, including heritage items, jewellery, silverware, traditional clothing for women and children, fashion accessories, perfumes, incense, and more.
Hani al Malki of Atyab Al Anjeri Company, which specialises in frankincense products, highlighted their participation: “Our company, based in Salalah, aims to introduce visitors to our diverse frankincense-based products. We’re planning to open a second branch in Mall of Oman and have a website that caters to buyers both within and outside Oman. We also participate in international exhibitions, including in Gulf countries, to expand our reach.” Participation from international companies has also enriched the event.
Younis al Hariri, CEO of Taateer Junaid Perfumes Company from Kuwait, remarked: “This is our first participation in Muscat Nights. Following the success of our involvement in Salalah, we decided to join this exhibition to reach a broader audience. We are also opening two branches in Muscat.” Beyond shopping, the exhibition offers a cultural dimension, including opportunities for visitors to indulge in reading and other enriching activities. Muscat Nights festival continues to serve as a major tourist attraction in Oman, offering an ideal winter tourism experience.
The consumer exhibition has become an invaluable avenue for young people to develop marketing and sales skills. It fosters creativity, self-development and readiness for the labour market. Entrepreneurs and SMEs benefit by identifying consumer preferences, receiving valuable feedback and refining their products to meet diverse tastes.
Muscat Nights festival has successfully positioned itself as a hub for entrepreneurial growth, cultural exchange and vibrant shopping experiences, solidifying its place as one of Oman’s most celebrated festivals.
