MUSCAT: The Youth and Human Resources Committee of the Majlis Ash'shura welcomed a group of representatives from the Young Ambassadors Project on Tuesday. The visit provided an opportunity for the participants to gain insight into the committee’s efforts in addressing youth-related issues and advancing their potential and aspirations in Oman.
The delegation was introduced to the vision and mission of the Majlis Ash'shura, its roles, and its legislative and oversight responsibilities. The discussions highlighted the council’s collaborative role with other state institutions in shaping national policies and achieving the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
The participants also received a detailed explanation of the work and responsibilities of the Council’s Office and its standing committees. Additionally, they were briefed on the legislative process for draft laws referred to the council by the government, as well as the oversight tools available to council members and their implementation as outlined in the Basic Law of the State and the Oman Council Law.
As part of their visit, the Young Ambassadors explored the advanced technologies utilised in the council’s deliberation hall, where sessions are held. They also toured the Oman Council Library, gaining a deeper understanding of the council's resources and operations.
The Young Ambassadors Project is a national initiative aimed at preparing young Omani leaders to represent the country’s identity and values in regional and international forums effectively. It focuses on enhancing participants’ ability to engage in meaningful discussions on various issues across multiple disciplines on the global stage.
