Muscat: Al Bashayer Club snatched victory over Seeb Club with a score of 60-56 in a match held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher. With this win, Al Bashayer raised their tally to 12 points, while Seeb now stands at 11 points in 2024-2025 Oman Basketball League.
The match witnessed intense competition and excitement throughout all quarters. Seeb dominated the first and fourth quarters, while Al Bashayer asserted their control in the second and third quarter. Al Bashayer’s standout performers included Ahmed al Halhali, alongside professionals Samkelo Brian and Slavin Kupkovic, as well as Bassam al Busaidy. For Seeb, notable players included Rashid al Wahaibi, Marwan al Hadidi and Abdulrahman al Shaibi.
The game kicked off strongly with Seeb taking the lead as Rashid al Zuhaibi scored two points with a basket from under the rim. Al Bashayer quickly responded with a three-pointer by Said al Saadi. The exchanges continued, with Seeb adding 16 points and Al Bashayer 14 points, ending the first quarter with Seeb leading 18-17.
In the second quarter, Al Bashayer showcased superior offensive and defensive skills. Their players alternated in scoring, allowing Al Bashayer to advance to 32-22. After an attempt by Seeb’s player Romeo to score from a foul, Al Bashayer retaliated with a three pointer, strengthening their lead to 35-23. The back and forth play continued, with Al Bashayer maintaining their lead by the end of the first half at 40-26.
The third quarter saw Al Bashayer retaining their dominance despite Seeb’s attempts to narrow the gap. Brian opened the scoring for Al Bashayer with three points, countered by Seeb with six points through Nooh al Amri and Marwan al Hadidi, who hit two three pointers to bring the score to 32-43. However, Brian added two more points for Al Bashayer. Seeb reduced the gap further before Al Bashayer’s Hadid Bait Bakhit responded with a three pointer to extend the lead to 48-35. Both teams continued to score, concluding the third quarter with Al Bashayer ahead 49-40.
In the fourth quarter, both teams increased their offensive efforts, with Seeb particularly focused on closing the gap. They managed to bring the difference down to just two points, but Al Bashayer responded effectively, reinforcing their lead.
The match concluded with Al Bashayer securing a 60-56 victory over Seeb.
The match was officiated by Ahmed al Balushi as the first referee, Essam al Siyabi as the second referee, and Mazen al Hilali as the third referee. The table officials included Mariam al Zadjali, Majid al Akhzami, and Omaima al Hajri, with international referee Younis al Zadjali serving as the technical observer.
