TEHRAN: The Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran have underscored the importance of consolidating cooperation and partnership in various fields, such as economy, trade, energy, transport, tourism and other areas.

This took place during a joint press conference held in Tehran on Monday by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, and Dr Abbas Araqchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Sayyid Badr said that the two sides agreed to take practical steps to enhance trade and investment ties, augment the volume of inter-trade, and facilitate transport, shipping and travel. He also underscored the importance of cooperation in establishing projects related to food security and health.

Sayyid Badr pointed out that the press conference also discussed regional and international developments. It stressed the need to step up diplomatic efforts and enhance the mechanisms of constructive dialogue to address the current challenges facing the region, he added.
