SALALAH: The six-day awareness campaign, 'Will Makes Change,' organised by the Omani Association for Persons with Disabilities in Dhofar Governorate, concluded on Friday in Itin Plain, Salalah. The initiative was conducted in collaboration with government and civil entities across Salalah, Taqah, and Mirbat.
Amal bint Ahmed al Ibrahim, Head of the Social Committee of Dhofar’s Municipal Council, emphasised the importance of recognising the abilities and creativity of people with disabilities, calling them a source of inspiration and strength in building society.
The closing event featured a community marathon promoting social integration, an inspiring success story of a person with disabilities, a theatrical performance, and poetry. An awareness exhibition showcased handicrafts by productive families and contributions from Al Wafa Centres, the Omani Association for Persons with Disabilities, and Al Noor Association for the Blind. The ceremony, sponsored by Shaikh Tariq bin Khalid al Hinai, Wali of Taqah, concluded with honours for participants and contributors. — ONA
