IBRA: A remarkable ceremony was held in the Wilayat of Ibra, Al Sharqiyah North Governorate, to honour 28 exceptional memorisers who triumphed in the Ibra Quran Memorisation Competition. The event, supervised by the Waqf Quranic School in the Wilayat of Ibra, took place under the auspices of Mahmoud bin Yahya al Thuhli, Governor of Al Sharqiyah North. Dr Ahmed bin Jaber al Maskari, representing the school, highlighted the scope of the competition in his speech. The initiative saw 450 male and female participants competing across six levels:
• Level 1: Memorisation of Juz’ ‘Amma
• Level 2: Memorisation of Juz’ ‘Amma and Tabarak
• Level 3: Memorisation of Juz’ ‘Amma, Tabarak, and Qadd Sami’
• Level 4: Memorisation of five separate Juz’s
• Level 5: Memorisation of five consecutive Juz’s
• Level 6: Memorisation of ten consecutive Juz’s
Dr Al Maskari emphasised the competition's goal to build a strong foundation of Quran memorisers, preparing them to excel in local and international Quran memorisation competitions. He proudly noted the past successes of participants from the Wilayat of Ibra, including their achievements in the Sultan Qaboos Quran Competition and the Quran competitions organised by the Ministry of Education, where they secured distinguished positions.
The celebration featured a variety of inspiring presentations, including samples of winning Quranic recitations, a poem and a visual showcase of the competition's stages. There were also presentations about the school’s efforts and a chanting and poetry segment. The event concluded with the chief guest honouring the competition winners and the supporting committees, marking a memorable day in the Wilayat of Ibra. – ONA
