Zakaria al Zadjali, a football coach, reflects on the special significance of the tournament for younger generations. “I remember the joy of celebrating Oman’s victories in 2009 and 2017, when the streets were filled with celebration.
"The Gulf Cup teaches us that sports can unite us, and it serves as a lesson for the youth about the importance of cooperation and solidarity,” he says. Al Zadjali also emphasises that the Gulf Cup showcases the strong bonds between the Gulf nations, with fans from all teams interacting positively, promoting unity and mutual understanding.
In this tournament, it’s common to see fans of the losing team celebrating alongside supporters of the winning team, further reinforcing the unity and brotherhood that the Gulf Cup embodies.
