Omani-Angolan Joint Meeting explores bilateral cooperation

A joint meeting was held in Muscat on Thursday between a number of Omani ministers and undersecretaries with their Angolan counterparts to explore bilateral cooperation in various areas of mutual interest and develop relations, within the framework of the current official visit of President Joao Lourenco of the Republic of Angola to the Sultanate of Oman.


During the meeting, the two sides reviewed areas of cooperation in different economic and trade spheres, and discussed means of facilitating joint investments. They stressed the importance of boosting strategic partnerships to achieve joint interests and enhance integration.



José de Lima Massano, Minister of State for Economic Coordination of the Republic of Angola told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the meeting aimed to promote relations in various fields, such as the financial sector, industry, fisheries, logistics and food security. He pointed out that the two sides encourage businesspeople to seize the available opportunities in the two countries.


On his turn, Téte António, Minister of External Relations of the Republic of Angola said affirmed that the visit of the President of Angola to the Sultanate of Oman would push the bilateral relations towards wider horizons.



He underlined his country’s keenness to promote joint cooperation and develop strategic relations in various fields, such as energy and minerals. He explained that there are many opportunities that can be utilised by both sides.


The meeting was attended by several officials from both sides.
