Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Joao Lourenco of the Republic of Angola held an official session of talks at Al Alam Palace on Thursday.
The session explored areas of cooperation and investment between the two countries in the mining, agriculture, food security, ports, logistics and renewable energy sectors.
The session was attended from the Omani side by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Dr Hamad bin Said al Oufi, Head of the Private Office, Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority and Dr Said bin Mohammed al Saqri, Minister of Economy (Head of the Mission of Honour).
Meanwhile, it was attended from the Angolan side by José de Lima Massano, Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Téte António, Minister of External Relations, Vera Esperança dos Santos, Minister of Finance, Diamantino Pedro Azevedo, Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Mário Augusto da Silva Oliveira, Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technology, and Social Communication, Edeltrudes Costa Lourenço, Chief of Staff at the Presidency and Dr Frederico Cardoso, non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Angola.
After that, His Majesty the Sultan and the Angolan President held a closed-door session.
