Muscat: President Joao Lourenco of the Republic of Angola was accorded an official reception at Al Alam Palace on Thursday, on the occasion of his visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
Upon the arrival of the motorcade of the President at the courtyard of the palace, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received the Angolan President, welcoming him as a dear guest in the Sultanate of Oman. His Majesty wished him and his accompanying delegation a successful visit.
After that, His Majesty the Sultan accompanied the President to the Dais of Honour where the national anthem of the Republic of Angola was played, while the artillery fired a 21-gun salute for the guest.
Then, His Majesty the Sultan shook hands with members of the official delegation accompanying the President of Angola. On his turn, the guest shook hands with some members of the Royal Family, ministers and military commanders.
