Under the auspices of Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA), Sohar University celebrated the graduation of its 23rd batch on December 18, 2024. The event honoured 1,164 graduates from the following faculties: The Faculty of Business, the Faculty of Education and Arts (excluding Teacher Preparation Programme), the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, and the Faculty of Engineering. It was held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre's Al Irfan Theatre.

The number of graduates from each Faculty is as follows: 388 graduates from the Faculty of Business, 345 graduates from the Faculty of Education and Arts, 227 graduates from the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, and 204 graduates from the Faculty of Engineering.

The ceremony commenced with the Sultanate of Oman’s national anthem and a recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by address by the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Dr Hamdan al Fazari, who said: “It is my pleasure to congratulate you, on earning your academic degrees, which you have achieved through perseverance, dedication and invaluable time. You have our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on this significant milestone in your lives. I also extend my congratulations to your families, friends and everyone who supported you throughout your academic journey.” He added: “My advice to you is to utilise your knowledge and skills in serving your communities and contributing to the growth and development of your nations, each in their area of expertise and within their abilities.

"Set clear goals for your future, turn your ideas into actions and be drivers of your own success rather than passengers in the journey of life. I wish you all success in achieving your aspirations. Learn from those who came before you, embrace even small beginnings in your careers, and always express gratitude to those who have supported you.”
