MUSCAT: Muscat city will host the draw for the 41st Gulf Club Handball Championship which will take place on Wednesday as Oman Club is gearing up to host the championship from February 15 to 24, 2025.
The draw ceremony will be held under the auspices of Shaikh Sultan bin Hamid al Hosni, Member of the Majlis Ash'shura representing the Wilayat of Al Khabourah and former Chairman of Gulf Handball Organising Committee. The draw ceremony will be attended by Moosa bin Khamis al Balushi, Chairman of Oman Handball Association (OHA), besides members of the Board of Directors, Jihad bin Abdullah al Shaikh, Vice-Chairman of Oman Club and Head of the Organising Committee as well as members of Oman Club's Board of Directors and representatives of the participating Gulf clubs.
The agenda of the draw function will include a speech from the organising committee, the unveiling of the championship logo and an explanation of the draw procedures.
A total of eight teams will participate in the championship including Oman Club and Seeb Club from the Sultanate of Oman, Al Noor Club (Saudi Arabia), Al Rayyan (title holders) and Al Arabi Club from Qatar, Kuwait SC (Kuwait), Dibba Al Huson Club (UAE) and Al Najma Club (Bahrain).
The teams will be divided into two groups with matches to be played in a single round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinal stage.
