MUSCAT: The Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) welcomed a new batch of officer candidates and female officers holding civilian ranks on Sunday, marking the commencement of their military and academic training programmes. The candidates were selected after successfully passing rigorous acceptance and evaluation stages.

This initiative reflects the ongoing efforts of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) to implement national employment plans in coordination with the Ministry of Labour (MoL), fostering opportunities for Omani citizens to serve their nation.

The RNO has leveraged its extensive expertise and resources to ensure that all administrative and health requirements are in place, preparing the recruits to join the ranks of honour and national service. As part of its broader mission, the Sultan’s Armed Forces remain committed to integrating the young citizens of Oman into various military sectors. These plans aim to equip the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and its affiliated branches with highly qualified national talent, dedicated to upholding the values of service to the nation and its wise leadership. — ONA
