MAJOR MILESTONES AND INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP
Under Al Maashani’s leadership, Al Baraka has achieved significant milestones, reflecting its growth and adaptability. Among these, pioneering Electric Workover Rigs in Oman and receiving multiple industry awards stand out.

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES WITH STRATEGIC INSIGHT
Navigating the oil price volatility and responding to Covid-19’s economic impact were among the key challenges faced by Al Baraka. The company responded by enhancing its cost-competitiveness and increasing local employment.
“We are proud that our Hoist division is nearly 90% Omani-staffed, with over 140 locals from the Wilayat of Shaleem and Al Hallaniyat Islands employed in various disciplines,” Al Maashani shared. “Balancing profitability with sustainability required innovative strategies and collaboration with stakeholders.”

Al Maashani views leadership as fostering a culture of innovation, accountability and inclusivity. His leadership approach focuses on setting clear goals, empowering teams, and promoting open communication.
“I aim to create an environment where employees feel motivated to contribute to our shared vision,” he explained. “By recognising achievements and encouraging continuous learning, we build a resilient and future-ready team.”
Looking ahead, Al Maashani envisions positioning Al Baraka Oilfield Services as a leader in sustainable energy solutions while maintaining its dominance in conventional oilfield services. He foresees a future where renewable energy integration, digital innovation and Oman’s growth as a global energy hub will define the industry landscape.
“Our efforts to explore renewable energy and expand into non-oil sectors mark a transformative phase for the company, aligning with Oman Vision 2040,” he said. “This signifies our commitment to the country’s economic diversification goals.”
ADVICE FOR ASPIRING LEADERS
Drawing from his experience, Al Maashani shared practical advice for the next generation of CEOs: “Stay adaptable and embrace change; the business landscape is evolving rapidly. Cultivate a vision that combines profitability with sustainability, invest in your people and be a lifelong learner,” he advised. “Keeping up with the AI revolution is critical, especially in the energy industry.”
In closing, Al Maashani reflected on the balance between leadership and personal well-being: “Maintaining physical fitness, spending quality time with family and setting aside time for personal growth are essential. A strong support system is the key to achieving this balance.”
