KUWAIT: The Sultanate of Oman and Kuwait held productive discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation in the field of social development, focusing on initiatives that serve the mutual interests of both nations. These talks took place during the visit of Dr Laila bint Ahmed al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, and her accompanying delegation to Kuwait.

During the visit, Dr Laila Al Najjar met with Dr Amthal al Huwailah, Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs of Kuwait. The two leaders exchanged views on topics of shared interest and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral collaboration in social development, particularly in areas that benefit families, children and people with disabilities.

The Omani delegation had the opportunity to visit several prominent facilities in Kuwait, including the Juvenile Care Department Headquarters, the Social Care Home Complex, and the Childhood Home. They also toured the Care Centre for Persons with Disabilities, the Child Evaluation and Education Centre, and the headquarters of the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities, along with its affiliated centres. In addition, the delegation visited the Kuwait Society for the Care of the Disabled, gaining valuable insights into Kuwait’s efforts in providing comprehensive care and support to vulnerable populations.

This visit reflects the strong ties between Oman and Kuwait and their shared dedication to advancing social welfare programmes and services that contribute to the well-being of their citizens. — ONA
