Teen Omani tech whiz delivers cyber safety session at ISWK

MUSCAT: Hilal Tariq al Barwani, 17-year-old Omani IT whiz-kid, recently delivered an engaging and interactive cybersecurity awareness session to the students at The Indian School Wadi Kabir Cambridge International (ISWK). The session was part of the Anti-Bullying Awareness Week held at the School premises. Over 60 students from Grade 8 to 12 along with faculty members attended the session.


Hilal’s interactive presentation covered a range of topics, including the dangers of cyberbullying, the importance of online privacy, and best practices for safe Internet use. Students and faculty alike were impressed by his knowledge and ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner. “It’s an honour to be invited to speak and share my knowledge to help students stay safe online,” said Hilal. “Cybersecurity is a critical issue, and I’m committed to continue this journey of sharing knowledge, raising awareness and empowering students to protect themselves.”


Known for his passion for technology and knowledge sharing, Hilal took the stage to address the pressing challenges of navigating the digital world safely. His presentation not only shed light on the dangers of cyberbullying but also provided practical insights into safeguarding personal information online. Hilal’s initiative drew praise from school authorities, who hailed his ability to break down complex topics and inspire his peers.

The event concluded with a lively Q&A session, during which Hilal addressed students’ concerns and provided actionable advice. In recognition of his valuable contribution, a trophy of appreciation was presented to Hilal by the Vice-Principal of the School
