Muscat: The Council of Ministers and the Shura Council held a joint meeting at the premises of the Council of Ministers on Tuesday.
HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, and some members of the Council of Ministers received Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council, and members of the Shura Council’s Office.
The meeting took place within the context of supporting ongoing cooperation among all state institutions, as stipulated in the Basic Law of the State and the Law of the Council of Oman.
It was held in pursuance of reaching joint visions that back march of the comprehensive development in the Sultanate of Oman.
At the outset of the meeting, HH Sayyid lauded the constructive role of the Shura Council. He underlined the government’s keenness on boosting cooperation with the Shura Council in all matters that serve tracks of the national action, affirming that paying attention to proposals of the Council of Oman tops the priority of the Council of Ministers. These proposals, said HH Sayyid Fahd, are being presented within the economic and social plans and programmes.
After that, HH Sayyid Fahd reviewed some aspects that enhance the joint coordination with the Shura Council.
The meeting stressed the government’s attention to initiatives aimed at enabling the Shura Council to carry out its tasks.
In pursuance of this approach, the service ministers respond to the Shura Council’s requests to deliver ministerial statements before the Council’s members regarding government efforts to implement the state’s general policies. The Shura Council also hosts government officials to discuss issues related to administrative and occupational aspects of their government units.
Within the context of positively dealing with proposals of the Shura Council’s members, the Council of Ministers has approved that the government departments concerned give visual presentations before the Shura Council highlighting the efforts made to boost performance in all economic sectors.
The joint meeting reviewed a range of topics that covered fields of cooperation with the government and undertaking the mission of awareness as an objective that convey the real image of the national action. The meeting also highlighted the importance of the joint coordination ministerial committee between the Council of Ministers and the Shura Council in a manner that presses ahead in rendering best services to citizens.
On their turn, the Chairman of Shura Council and members of the Council’s Office commended the meeting’s outcomes. They expressed their appreciation to the government and its farsighted leadership. They also pledged to continue exerting efforts in sustaining the nation’s progress and prosperity.
