MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman's total electricity production until the end of September 2024 increased by 8.1% to reach 37,584.7 gigawatts per hour compared to 34,777.4 gigawatts per hour in the same period in 2023.
Statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information showed that the governorates of North and South Al Batinah and Al Dhahirah recorded a total production of 23,586.1 gigawatts per hour, an increase of 7.8% compared to the end of September 2023.
While the total production in Muscat Governorate decreased by 8.1% to reach 395.5 gigawatts per hour, while it increased in Dhofar Governorate by 14.7% to reach 4,458 gigawatts per hour.
Total production in North and South Al Sharqiyah Governorates increased by 6.1% to reach 8247.6 gigawatts per hour, while total production in Al Wusta Governorate decreased by 26.1% to reach 130.9 gigawatts per hour, and in Musandam Governorate, total production increased by 5.2% to record 388.1 gigawatts per hour.
Statistics indicated that the net electricity production of the Sultanate of Oman until the end of September 2024 increased by 7.3% to reach 36,210.9 gigawatts per hour.
On the other hand, statistics showed that the total amount of water produced in the Sultanate of Oman amounted to about 383.391 million cubic meters by the end of September 2024, compared to 390.727 million cubic meters in the same period in 2023. — ONA
