IBRA: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion launched the upgraded Omani Standards Store, the Green Card for Water Conservation, and a Laboratory Database on the Hazm Platform as part of the ‘Specifications and Standards System for a Sustainable Economy’ event in Ibra, Al Sharqiyah North Governorate.


The event, under the auspices of Dr Saud bin Hamoud al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, showcased strategic initiatives aligned with Oman Vision 2040, including improved standardisation strategies, enhanced product quality, and agreements with industry leaders to develop national standards.


The Green Card promotes water management and cost efficiency, while the Hazm Platform ensures product conformity and market quality. An exhibition highlighted innovations such as electric vehicles, fuel calibration labs, and energy-efficient solutions, with contributions from students and industry leaders.


The initiative reaffirms the Sultanate of Oman’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in economic development.


Key speakers, including Dr Jihad bint Jabr al Busaidiyah and Khalid bin Mohammed al Shahri, addressed achievements, aspirations and community-driven initiatives in standardisation under Oman Vision 2040 and the 11th Five-Year Plan. The event concluded with insights into the Sultanate of Oman’s commitment to sustainable economic development, emphasising innovation, quality and environmental responsibility. — ONA
