AL BURAIMI: The Environment Authority in the Wilayat of Al Buraimi, Al Buraimi Governorate, marked International Volunteer Day by hosting a series of environmental activities aimed at fostering community engagement and environmental awareness.
The celebration featured the distribution of wild seedlings at Al Muqdad bin Amr Primary School in Al Fayyadh, alongside environmental books such as The Arabian Leopard in the Sultanate of Oman and Ras Al Shajar Nature Reserve, as well as publications on the Arabian Oryx Reserve.
Ahlam bint Rashid al Muqbaliyah, Communication and Media Specialist at the Environment Authority, delivered an insightful lecture titled Environmental Volunteering at Hafsa bint Sirin Girls School. The lecture explored the concept and various forms of environmental volunteering, emphasising its positive impact on both individuals and society.
Environmental volunteering plays a crucial role in safeguarding nature, from afforestation and cleaning drives to environmental education and supporting clean energy initiatives, ultimately contributing to a more sustainable and aware community. — ONA
