The Royal Academy of Management has successfully concluded the Future Leaders Programme (FLP), a key initiative aligned with the strategic objectives of Oman Vision 2040. The programme was designed to support the nation’s sustainable development goals and foster the growth of leadership capabilities among young Omanis. It aims to equip them with the skills necessary to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving world. This initiative reflects the vision of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, to cultivate a new generation of dynamic national leaders, fully equipped with the innovative capabilities and skills essential for shaping Oman’s future.

Implemented in collaboration with Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) Qatar, GLOBIS, Matterz, KAOSPILOT, FLP programme focused on cultivating a culture of institutional innovation among participants, equipping them to effectively navigate rapid changes and foster Omani talent and competencies. It also aimed at strengthening leadership skills, empowering participants to develop effective leadership capabilities, strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, the programme emphasised the importance of innovation and driving positive change within the workplace, ensuring participants were well-prepared to contribute to the evolving needs of their industries and communities.

Hilal al Riyami, Director of the Future Leaders Programme, explained that the programme is a reflection of the academy’s vision to cultivate young national leaders who possess the ability to innovate and make a meaningful, positive impact in their communities. The programme specifically targeted 50 young Omanis from diverse public and private institutions, offering them valuable insights through a variety of modules, which included three in-person sessions and three talent labs. These sessions focused on enhancing leadership capabilities, exploring successful international case studies and fostering business acumen. The overarching goal of all these units was to equip participants with future-ready skills and empower them to apply global best practices in their respective fields.

Maryam al Toubi, one of the participants in FLP programme, described her experience as an extraordinary and transformative journey, offering her the chance to discover new horizons while navigating professional challenges. Through the programme's comprehensive educational modules and inspiring talent labs, she gained valuable insights and practical tools that significantly strengthened her leadership abilities and sharpened her strategic vision.

Mohammed al Hinai also reflected on how the experience marked a transformative milestone in both his professional and personal journey. He described the programme as far more than just a training sessions or theoretical lectures; it was a dynamic, all-encompassing journey that presented both challenges and opportunities, ultimately reshaping his approach to leadership and work strategies. Over the course of six months of intensive, hands-on learning, the programme masterfully blended strategic insight with tangible, real-world application.
